What is the difference between a regular and an irregular verb?
A regular verb forms the past and past participle by adding ed or d to the infinitive. Irregular verbs change their spelling in various ways.

To swim, swim, swam, swimming, have swum
Name the 6 tenses
Present, Past, Future, Present Perfect, Past Perfect, Future Perfect.
What is unique about the third person singular present tense?
The verb ends in s, as in (he/she/it) sings.
What helping verbs will the future perfect tense always have?
Will have or shall have.
What do the perfect tenses have in common?
The helping verbs have, has or had.
The Perfect tenses are formed by what principal part?
The Past participle.
What is the progressive form?
The - ing form of the verb.
What does it mean to conjugate a verb?
To list a verb form with all its tenses, numbers and persons.
Define active and passive voices.
When the subject does the action it is active. When the action is being done to the subject it is passive voice.
Give the first person singular present tense of the active and passive voice of to call.
I call, I am called. (Practice with different tenses persons numbers and verbs!)
What is the difference between a transitive and intransitive verb?
A transitive verb requires and object to complete the thought; an intransitive verb does not.
Transitive and Intransitive verbs are two types of what kind of verb?
Action verbs
What are the other types of verbs?
Linking and helping verbs.
The verb must always agree with it’s subject in….?
Number
What if a prepositional phrase comes between the subject and the verb? Does the verb agree with the subject or the object of the preposition?

The prepositional phrase that modifies the pronoun determines the number.
