First test Flashcards
(13 cards)
What are teh 2 types of measured quantities.
Scalar:
Consist of 2 things; Magnitude(Measured value ), and a unit
Vector:
Consist of 2 things; Magnitude(Measured value ), a unit, and a direction
What will be changed with Scalar*Vector
The length of the vector will change not the direction.
Define d, Δd, Δdt, t/Δt, a, v, s
and say if they are scalar or vector
d is the position. Vector
Δd is the displacement. Vector
Δdt is the total displacement. Vector
t/Δt is the time. Scalar
a is the acelleration. Vector
v is the velocity. Vector
s is the speed. Scalar
Displacement
The diffrence between 2 positions.
Total displacement formula
Δdt = Δd1 + Δd2 …
or d3(final) - d1(first)
What is uniform motion
The objects displacement varing at a constant rate
formula for velocity
ΔD/Δt
Formula for average velocity
Δdt/Δt
formula for speed
distance travelled/time
What is non-uniform motion
Displacement not varing non-lineraly.
Graphically it is a quadratic
What is a tangent
A tangent is the apporximate for a slope of a curved line.
formula of acceleration
v2-v1/Δt
distance vs displacement
displacement is a vector (gps)
does not count the middle steps
distance is scalar (step counter)
and counts the middle steps
