15
Q

Advantages of combination folders?

A
  1. Less space - (than buckle folding machines ) 2. More inexpensive - (than buckle folding machines) 3. Paper with extreme characteristics = very light or very heavy can be folded more easily (than buckle folding machines)
16
Q

Disadvantages of combination folding?

A
  1. Lower output 2. Numerous folding possibilities but not as varied as multi folding station buckle folding machines
17
Q

What are the 5 types of feeders?

A
  1. Rotary pile feeder (round continuous feeder) 2. Vertical pile feeder (pile feeder/flat pile feeder) 3. Pallet feeders 4. Stream feeders 5. Box suction feeders
18
Q

What folding principle is this?

A

Knife Folding Principle

19
Q

What folding principle is this?

A

bucle folding principle

20
Q

Describe this image.

A

combination folding machine

  • has buckle plates
  • splitter shaft
  • folding rollers
21
Q

what is this ?

A

rotary pile feeder

22
Q

what is this?

A

stream feeder

23
Q

what is this?

A

box suction feeder

24
Q

what is this image of?

A

combined folding machine configuration

25
Q

what are these

A

preforating tools for knife shafts

26
Q

Describe the buckle fold principle…

A

Bookbinding sheet is transformed though upper & lower folding roller into the buckle plate. Sheet bumps against buckle stop. Due to the movement of folding roller, buckle is created. *fold is created between the folding rollers

27
Q

Describe the knife folding principle….

A

Bookbinding sheet is fed between folding knife and folding roller. Folding knife joins sheet of the folding line between folding rollers. Between folding rollers, fold is made.

28
Q

what are these?

A

types of folding rollers with homogenous and composite surfaces.

29
Q

Name each preforrating tool.

(top left - bottom right)

A
  1. knife for prefforating back fold on folded sheet
  2. knife for preforrating a tear-off fold on sheet surface
  3. knife for prefforating fold at head of the fold sheet
  4. knife for punch prefforating in back of fold for preforation binding
