What is the second stage of digestion?
Digestive food is absorbed into the bloodstream in the small intestine
What is the third stage of food digestion?
Excess water is absorbed back into the body in the large intestine
What is the forth stage of digestion?
Any undigested food passes out of the ants as faeces when we go to the toilet

A substance produced by a living organism which acts as a catalyst to bring a specific biochemical reaction

starch -> sugars
What acid does the stomach produce?
Hydrochloric acid
What does the enzyme lipase do?
Breaks down fats
What does the enzyme protease do?
Breaks down proteins
What does the enzyme carbohydrase do?
Breaks down carbohydrates
