Test for starch

Add drops of iodine to food and see is food turns black.

Question 2

Test for sugar

Answer 2

Add drops of Benedict’s solution to the food in a test tube. Heat the test tube in boiling water. If sugar is present it will turn orange.

Question 3

Test for protein

Answer 3

Put food in a test tube and add ver dilute blurted solution to it. Protein is present if purple in colour.

Question 4

Test for fat

Answer 4

Crush food up into small pieces and add ethanol to it in a test tube. Solution should Tuen milky white if fat is present.
