1

Brachialis Muscle

ORIGIN: Distal half of the Humerus ( Anterior surface )

INSERTION: Tuberosity and Coronoid process of Ulna

ACTION: Flexion of the elbow

2

Brachioradialis Muscle

ORIGIN: Superior 2/3 of lateral supracondylar ridge of the Humeurs

INSERTION: Styloid Process of Radius

ACTION: Flexion of the elbow (HU Joint) + assists in pronation and supination of the Forearm ( Resistance )

3

Extensor Group

4 Extensors they are all situated between Brachioradialis and the Ulna along the lateral posterior side of the Forearm.

The Extensor Digiti Minimi is sometimes classified as a separate muscle, but it is just thr most medial portion of the Extensor Digitorum with a tendon attaching to the 5th Finger

4

Extensor Carpi Ulnaris Muscle

ORIGIN: Extensor Tendon of the lateral Epicondyle of the Humerus

INSERTION: Base of 5th Metacarpal

ACTION: Extension + Adduction of the wrist ( Ulnar deviation )

5

Extensor Digitorum

ORIGIN: Extensor Tendon of the lateral Epicondyle of the Humerus

INSERTION: Base of middle and distal phalanges through 2nd - 5th Fingers

6

Extensor Capri Radials Longus and Brevis Muscles

OIRING:

L. - Distal 1/3 of the lateral supracondylar ridge of Humerus

B. - Extensor Tendon of the lateral Epicondyle of the Humerus

INSERTION:
L. - Base if 2nd Metacarpal
B. - Base of 3d Metacarpal

ACTION: Extension, Abduciotn of the wrist (Radial Deviation)
L. - Flexion of the elbow

7

Anconeus Muscle

ORIGIN: Lateral epicondyle of Humeurs

INSERTION: Olecranon process and posterior/proximal surface of Ulna

ACTION: Extension of the elbow

8

Extensor Indicis Muscle

ORIGIN: Posterior/Distal shaft of ulna + Intersseous Membrane

INSERTION: Tendon of extensor Digitorum on the 2nd Metacarpal

ACTION: Extension and Adduction of 2nd finger, Extension of Wrist

9

Palmaris Longus Muscle

ORIGIN: Common Flexor tendon on the Medial Epicondyle of the Humerus

INSERTION: Flexor retinaculum and palmar Aponeurosis

ACTION: Flexion of the Wrist

10

Flexor Capri Ulnaris Muscle

ORIGIN:

Ulnar Head - Posterior surface of proximal 2/3 of Ulna

Humoral Head -Common Flexor tendon on the Medial Epicondyle of the Humerus

INSERTION: Pisiform, Hook of Hamate, base of 5th Metacarpal

11

Flexor Digitorum Superficialis Muscle

ORIGIN: Common Flexor tendon on the Medial Epicondyle of the Humerus, Intersseous Membrane, Coronoid process of Ulna, Ulnar Collateral Ligament + proximal shaft of Radius

INSERTION: Sides of Middel Phalanges of 2 - 5th Fingers

ACTION: Flexion of the Fingers + Flexion of the Wrist

12

Flexor Digitorum Profundus

ORIGIN: Anterior medial surfaces of the proximal Ulna

INSERTION: Base of distal Phalanges, palmar surface of 2 - 5th Finger

ACTION: Flexion of the Fingers

13

Pronator Teres Muscle

ORIGIN: Common Flexor tendon on the Medial Epicondyle of the Humerus + Coronoid process of Ulna

INSERTION: Middle/Lateral surface of the Radius

ACTION: Pronation of the Forearm + ( Flexion of the Elbow )

14

Pronator Quadratus Muscle

ORIGIN: Medial/ Anterior surface of Distal Ulna

INSERTION: Lateral/ Anterior surface of distal Radius

ACTION: Pronation of the Forearm

15

Supinator Muscle

ORIGIN: Lateral Epicondyle of the Humerus + Radial Collateral Ligament + Supinator crest of Ulna

INSERTION: Anterior/ Lateral surface of proximal 1/3 of the Radial Shaft

ACTION: Supination of the Forearm
