Modus operandi
Way of doing something or method of operation
- “The teacher’s modus operandi is to start the class with a quick review of the previous lesson before diving into new material.”
- “When studying for exams, my modus operandi is to break down each subject into small chunks and study one chunk at a time.”
Primary face
At first glance or on the surface
Eg:-
“Prima facie, he seems like a trustworthy person, but I’ll need to know more about him before I fully trust him”
“The project is prima facie feasible, but we need to check if we have enough resources to complete it.”
Faux pas
Social blunder/ a social mistake or embarrassing act, especially something that goes against accepted behavior or manners.

2.. “He committed a faux pas by interrupting the speaker in the middle of her sentence.
Quid pro q
It’s a Latin phrase that means “something for something” / give and take — a mutual exchange where one thing is given in return for another.
Eg 💭
1. “He offered to help me with my project as a quid pro quo for me helping him last week.”
(He’s helping because I helped him — it’s a fair exchange.)
- “She gave him marketing tips in quid pro quo for free graphic design.”
(She gave something valuable and got something valuable in return.)
