  • Place their needs before yours. Ask what need you can help with right now. Be concerned about them, get involved in their life and be yourself while doing this.

E = Empathize with them
* This done by discerning, relating and fulfilling one of their needs. Be open to conversation with them, how they communicate, their tone of voice and actions. Become the loving friend who want to help. If you can meet a tangible need - do it, if not -> pray for them. Important to be genuine at all times and offer Gods love. Relate to an experience they have had with your own to show they aren’t alone.

  1. To be a friend means you are the share a certain bond with someone and concern for their well-being. You do not have to share all interests. Your are willing to help and be involved in their life with genuine concern. Friends are faithful during tough times, forgiving, loving, caring, honest in a kind way, patient, and available when called upon. A friend accepts who the person is but tells them about the love of God, and can identify destructive tendencies in their life. They want that person to reach their full potential.
  2. You have to view people as friends to influence love and forgiveness in the world.
