Ctrl and right click drag to create an area which u will zoom in to and then ctrl right click again to zoom back out to where u were If u ctrl right click drag only along the top bar of the playlist it will only zoom in along that axis
26
Pg up and Pg down
to cycle thru channel rack groups
27
If u record midi (f.ex) with the toolbar magnet set to anything but none, line or cell it will automatically quantise
28
Right click on sample waveform --> open in time editor will open up newtime. Sync will sync loops to tracks tempo. Newtime also has a send to piano roll option which just sends the rythm to piano roll without the pitch
29
Gross beat plugin is good to use as a more customisable trancegate The time section of the gross beat plugin can be used to make dj scratches - there is a hold button that makes it repeat over one section of audio
30
U can add and take away vibrato from things using the variation knob in newtone - theres also an advanced vibrato editing mode in newtones options In the options of newtone (which looks like scissors) there is also an option to copy to midi clipboard
31
U can make all parts of a sample cut eachother in slicex by clicking the regions dropdown --> set all cut groups to...
32
remove conflicts may remove previous automation
33
Piano roll chords will slide to the next closest note in pitch
Change colours to customise
34
Ctrl T
Add marker. Can also use to stop things looping annoyingly early.
35
Alt V in piano roll/ Option in top right of piano roll to alter shown ghost notes from different patterns (as long as they overlap in playlist)
Shows ghost notes from that pattern. Options in piano roll settings can make ghost notes moveable
36
Fruity send needs to be routed
37
Nova
Is expander if u press threshold button. Highpass and lowpass are on the left of nova. Novas EQ gain button means that it compensates in changes of amplitude level caused by EQing. The GR delta button allows u to listen to the difference between input and output
38
In Patcher Remember to right click and activate both the perameter knobs and surface control knobs - to link the stuff from map to surface u then need to connect the red dots
39
U can time stretch automation when double clicking on automation clips - this is also an easier place to connect more than one parameter to a clip - and set min max automation values
40
Using Fruity stereo shaper to process things differently:
sidechain the channel this is on to another channel. Select preset mid -a side splitter to sperate mid and sides. To seperate left and right select left - right splitter in presets.
41
Mautopitch and Mvibrato can formant shift and add tremolo/ vibrato however they do change the sound before u alter the plugin
42
As well as using layer plugin, U can have different keys play different samples by turning on omni preview in midi settings
43
Select blend recording (overdub) at top to stop midi overwriting
44
If for example I have edited some audio in edison and only want this new version I can drag this into the previous versions waveform display in its sampler and it will update it to the new one even on the playlist
45
Select loop recording at top to record lots of takes of the same part
46
shift M
make it stretch instead of cut when dragging ends of clips (Depends on if the individual clips mode is stretch or resample)
47
Alt and scroll wheel on piano roll notes
adjusts the velocity section (could be panning or pitch also) of these notes
48
Right click dragging in piano roll will make note panning or volume changes even
49
S in piano roll
changes between sliding and not sliding notes

When using 'cut by' in the sampler, a long release envelope will still play and overlap
58
Right click on waveform in sampler and then u can change to multi channel waveform view, it will also appear this way in the playlist.
59
When u delete automation clips make sure to delete them off the pattern and the channel rack, also right click on the perameter it was on and select delete initial value. This will stop the fader from jumping back to where the automation began all the time
60
Min max controls when double clicking on automation clip
61
there's ring mod in the sampler in fl
62
In Bipolar mode You can use waveshaper to only affect top or bottom of a waveform
63
U can use frequency splitter to split a sound into 3 frequency bands using sidechaining on the mixer so that u can process each one differently
64
In maximus a larger angle than 45 degrees is expanding, smaller angle than 45 degrees is compressing
65
Theres a Portamento mode (slides) in polophony section of sampler
66
If u want all sampler features of a piece of audio such as delay then drag the waveform from the sampler into channel rack and the new one should have all features
67
If u go to articulator tools on an automation clip u can analyse audio file and it will replicate its waveform in automation which u can then manipulate - after doing this u may want to select smooth up (also in articulator tools to make automation less abrupt)
68
use fruity peak controller on the thing that you want to dictate the other and then put fruity balance on the other then link the fruity balance knob to fruity peak controller
69
If u play something in midi that u wish u recorded, u can go to tools -> dump score log to selected pattern
70
U can tick the slide box when clicking on an automation clip to help extend the automation over
71
Convolver has built in EQ
72
U can drag a samples waveform from channel rack into piano roll and it shows outline in background of piano roll
73
Alt and arrow on keyboard to move samples up or down in the channel rack
74
U can select multiple things and send them to one track in mixer by right clicking on mixer channel and going to channel routing --> route selected channels to this track (Select multiple tracks with shift)
75
Fruity waveshaper- the X axis is input, the Y axis is output. If u flip the switch with the squiggly lines next to it makes it bipolar mode so u can effect the lower and upper halves of the waveform seperately. (The default unipolar mode effects both upper and lower halves equally)
The faint white line shows where the input signal reaches Stuff to the right of faded white vertical line (input gain) isnt affected
76
Mix from no gain upwards until it sounds right
77
Dont try to use one compressor for multiple things- just use more than one compressor
78

91
In tools --> macros -->switch all audio clips to, u can make all audio clips stretch or resample
92
If u select multiple mixing tracks at once u can move the two faders at the same time
93
U need to use fruity send For parralel processing in fl. Otherwise if u adjust the fader its routed from it will change the parallel processing u have set up.
94
If u make mixer strips extra large u can see the plugins they have on them
95
Quick tweak button up top will quickly tweak the last perameter
96
In articulator tools section of automation clips u can...
- Flip the automation vertically - Smooth the automation - Analyse the audio clip (make the automation recreate the waveform - scale levels, adjusting level of automation this way means it will appear visually instead of just changing min/ max (other options here also)
97
U can group and ungroup tracks in playlist by dragging the bottom of the track/ shrinking it all the way up
98
Theres a ring mod in sampler
99
Scroll wheel along top of playlist to move slightly left\ right
100
U can just middle mouse click to rename things (dont even needa shift click)
101
Ctrl D
Deselect
102
BENDY plugin allows u to bend notes in non native fl instruments. F.ex. Vital
U need to set the non native instruments's input port to the same as the bendy plugin and then use the piano roll on the bendy channel on the channel rack
103
To quickly make something more or less wide just use the knob on the mixer track
104
U can use fruity limiter as a gate and the attack and release in the envelope section also affect the noise gate section.
105
Frequency shifter adds/ takes away the same amount of hz from each harmonic whereas a pitch shifter multiplies them so it keeps it in tune and logarythmic. A frequency shifter will detune a chord for this reason.
Can make stuff sound slimy
106
In vital u can add a vocal sample (f.ex) into the sample osc, and then from another osc which could be a plain sine wave (f.ex) u can make it have FM or RM based of the vocal sample so it will be a sine wave but also follow the vocal sample with kinda the same texture
107
Theres a very good randomiser tool in the fl piano roll (Levels section)
108
U can use link somethings gain to fruity peak controller and use the lfo section to create a stutter effect
U can change or automate the speed of the lfo to make it stutter faster/ slower. U can adjust the base to control how much of the signal u want to stutter U can change the shape. F.ex. Sine wave will be softer and square waves will be harsher
109
Fl granualizer (and others) will shorten midi notes that u play higher than the audios original pitch and lengthen notes that u play lower than the audios original pitch. (The granualizer respectively stretches or shortens the grain(s))
(Follows the harmonic series)
110
In fruity granualiser attack is the attack AND decay of each grain The pan knob is stereo seperation, NOT L/R
111
Fruity granualizer: Wave spacing is the amount of grains generated from a sample. Small values mean more grains are used (smaller gaps) so the playback is longer and much more gradual. Below 0% means that it will play backwards (general playback not each individual grain.)
In the effects section, the depth is an LFO which applies to the wave spacing value (the knob all the way to the left turns it off) and speed adjusts the speed of the LFO.
112
In articulator tools on an automation clip there is a create sequence option which gives an interface whitch is useful for making creative automation
113
When recording midi, press the delete key on the keyboard to delete the whole take
114
Be carefull with stereo wideners. They usually work by delaying one side of the signal. This can cause phasing issues when listening in mono. Check when stereo widening some things but dont put stereo widener on a lot of things.
Also check some synths in mono because they can have phase cancellation things too.
115
Quickly Export any selected audio to Wave Files
Ctrl R
116
U can use blur (the water droplet) in edison to turn audiofiles into atmospheric pad type of things
117
By right clicking on a mixer channel u can render everything that goes thru that mixer track
118
If u want to sidechain something with something silent select sidechain to this track only
119
Ctrl alt c
Consolodate
120
Enable heatmap by clicking on play button looking panel at bottom of fruity parametric EQ
121
How to check a samples note pattern
right click audio files in sampler- open in pitch corrector- select send to piano roll at the top of new tone and it will send to selected channel in sequencer
122
Fruity limiter: saturation knob can add some saturation to the transients which can create perceived loudness
Sustain basically has the effect of increasing attack/ release On fruity limiters compressor if u pull the ratio to the left it becomes an expander The gain knob applies after compression, (as it is with most compressors) however it applies before limiting.
123
The time section of the gross beat plugin can be used to make dj scratches.
there is a hold button that makes it repeat over one section of audio.
124
How to automate between two presets in gross beat:
right click on the one preset and copy value then right click on the same preset and create automation clip. Paste the value into the automation clip. Right click on the other preset u want it to turn into, and copy value then paste this into the automation clip at the point where u want it to change
125
Make selected clips unique
Ctrl shift V U can shift V drag to duplicate a pattern or clip and it makes the copy unique
126
Shift + scroll wheel in playlist
Scroll horizontally
127
Easy hi hat rolls
In control section of piano roll there is a repeat section
128
vocal denoise/ isolator
In tools in edison tries to remove noise even if it is at the same time as vocals (doesnt require noise profile)
129
Declipper/ declicker
They are in edison, in the same place as the denoiser.
130
Sonobus by sonosaurus makes it so u can easily play things from Pc thru phone
131
F8
Toggle browser
132
How to ring modulate using an external intput using khs ringmod
Have the thing u want to modulate 'playing' at the same time as the thing u want to use to modulate it. In the mixer route the thing u want to modulate with, to the thing u want to modulate ('sidechain to this track only') In khs processing make 2. Aux #1 the sidechain ONLY input.
133
Remember, Changing the order of mixer tracks in FL will affect where fruity send sends to.
And also affects what things are sidechained to.
134
FL spreader Yellow is pre fx - Orange is post The further the bar, along the top, is to the left the more out of phase the L/ R of the signal is - side only signal (would cancel out in mono) The further it is to the right- the more in phase a signals L/ R is with each other - mid only
U can only collapse everything under 10k to mono if u turn the low bypass knob up all the way to 10k and press mono
135
Vocodex: great for melding vocals with synth. Side chain mod and carrier to vocoder channel and then input them up top The more bars the order has, and the heigher the bands - distribution number is, then the more like the mod it will sound
The bandwidth knob is the knob with two arrows, more to the left will sound more metallic, and more to the right will sound more buzzy and smooth Contour adds noise to consonants to try and helps speech clarity
136
Edison: Ctrl del:
delete all areas not currently selected
137
Edison Marker tab next to settings Has detect pitch regions, which will tell u the note of a part of the audio
If the note isn't C5 you may want to tune the little keyboard in the sampler which u drag the sample into from edison. This means the sample will default to that note.
138
Removing bass fundamental and keeping harmonics
Our brains will still usually percieve the fundamental because the harmonics are pointing toward it as if its there Fl low lifter uses this phenomenon
139
Low lifter
Slope is a low pass filter for all generated harmonics It is always worth just clicking the flip polarity button to see if it sounds louder I think the diffusion section is similar to how that knob works in reverbs except it links to the harmonics instead
140
U can link different filters from fuity parametric eq 2 to fruity peak controller
141
In the top left of the mixer effects strip, u usually want it on 'external input only' so that it doesn't record with effects baked into the sound.
142
143
Right click on stuff and it will it but keep menus open
144
Fruity envelope Controller Is on Channel rack, Appears as an internal Controller. If u select one note on the envelope keyboard it will only send that note to envelope. Menu button is lil arrow along bottom. The two modes are unipolar or bipolar
To activate envelope u need to place notes on the envelope controllers channels piano roll. If u want to make it so it acts as an envelope for each individual note of another instrument then you will need to create pattern on instruments channels piano roll then copy and paste this to the envelope controllers channels piano roll.
145
Stop sound
Ctrl H
146
Fruity balance
Quick easy pan plugin which is helpful with patcher/ signal flow stuff - it will effect gain before the effects (the fader is post)
147
U can drag a samples waveform from channel rack into piano roll and it shows outline in background of piano roll
148
How to lock things in fl
Shift left click
149
Shortcut to export selected audio to WAV
Ctrl R
150
How to record feedback in fl
Put a delay in and turn the feedback knob way up. record it and then put it places or sample it in piano roll. U may wanna pitch it so that its in key with the track, but u might not!
151
152
Waveshaper Smoother curves = softer saturation The more Sudden the changes in direction are the closer to digital clipping If u make a pattern that is like steps then it is basically a bit crusher effect
Making the line curve as it goes past the input gain line creates soft clipping. If the line ran from top left to bottom right then it would be inversed phase (in bipolar mode) Top left corner to top right basically makes stuff a square wave (unipolar)
153
Crossover distortion in waveshaper
Creating distortion in the bottom left of waveshaper can create 'crossover distortion' which affects the 0 point of a waveform. It sounds a bit buzzy - oft used on distorted guitar sounds
154
How to record a bunch of takes using edison
Make it record on play and then create a loop in the playlist and click the paper clip looking thing in the top left of edison
155
The number at the top next to the white bar indicates FL being overrun.
If the number gets near 100 then u needa turn buffer length up Plugin performance monitor can be helpful to see what is making it struggle
156
U can bypass all effects on a mixer track with...
The orange button at the bottom of a track
157
U can make a sample such as an 808 last forever by setting loop points.
Open sample in edison: Select section u wanna extend. Click the regions dropdown, (lil flag in the top left) and 'set loop' drag into sampler.
158
159
How to Freeze reverb fl
Use Luxeverb and then use the freeze option, record it in playlist and then take luxeverb out of project.
