Vital Flashcards
(28 cards)
Vital
Everything goes thru envelope 1
Vital
If u select the keyboard picture in the last osc then the noise or sample u put in its pitch will be relative to the keys u play if is not selected then it wont be.
Vital
Key track knob in the filter makes the filter relative to the pitch u are playing.
The drive knob in the filter increases input gain which can create distortion.
Vital
Voices dictates how many keys u can play at one time
Vital
Increase vel trk to make it so if u play keys soft its queiter and if u play them loud its louder
Vital
Spread dictates the overall stereo spread of the synth
Vital: glide section
always glide
means it will glide even if u arent pressing two notes at the same time.
Vital: glide section
Legato
If selected, then the things like envelopes etc wont restart if u go from one note to another (as long as there isnt a gap inbetween notes.)
Vital: glide section
Octave scale
If turned on, the pitch will take longer to modulate to notes/ octaves the further away they are
Vital: compressor
u can change it to single band.
The center knob basically acts as a lowpass filter for the effect.
The ratio and threshold are controlled by dragging up and down inside/ at the bottom of the top green box.
The green box at the bottom when dragged up turns the compressor into an expander, with the ratio and threshold of the expansion.
Vital: LFOs
U can drag the LFOs to anywhere thats green. The circle that appears controls the amount of modulation.
in the matrix, the amount sliders the same as the circle.
U can right click on the circle in the LFO and choose make bipolar which means if f.ex its assigned to a filter it will go both ways- between 1 and -1 instead of 0 and 1 (f.ex. make the filter cut off more frequencies and less frequencies) (things are automatically set to unipolar)
Vital: LFO modes:
envelope: it just cycles once and doesnt repeat
Sustain envelope mode means if u hold a key it will sustain/ stay at the point at which the white bar is at, at the bottom of the LFO.
Loop point makes it loop from white bar til the end
loop hold means it loops from start to the white bar
Vital:
U could link the velocity tile to something, so that the harder u hit the keyboard key, the more that parameter is affected.
Vital:
The lift panel can be used to make something happen when u lift off a key.
Vital:
In the matrix if u click the numbers it will mute/ cancel the modulation.
Vital: advanced
Note track should be on.
Vital: advanced
There are unison controls:
unison blend and stereo unison, which makes voices wide or thin.
In the dropdown u can change the unison to be a major chord or minor chord.
Vital: advanced
There is waveform and spectral analysis
There is always an oscilloscope in top right. If u click on it then it turns into a spectogram.
Vital: advanced
Stack section
Means u can make each note play a maj chord, minor chord, play in octaves etc
Vital: advanced
In the voice section of advanced u can make it so that a new note restarts envelopes/ LFOs etc (kill) or that a new note countinues them (steal)
Vital:
In the wavetable there is a slew limiter:
when turnt up this will even out a waveform, making it more simple.
Vital: advanced
There is a master tuner which affects all oscillators.
Vital:
U can preview modulations by holding it over things but not dropping it.
In the top bar u can get into sampler settings (such as delay) within vital
