Define classified information.
Classified information is government designated, and on a need to know basis due to national security. Most commonly classified as a top-secret, secret, confidential.
- unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause an identifiable or describable damage to the nation.
Define sensitive information.
Sensitive information is safeguarded due to privacy, like personal information.

Machinery, documents, apparatus, devices, models.

1.An adjudicated inappropriate security clearance.

Define confidential.
If an unauthorized disclosure takes place, this would cause damage.
Level of damage is below secret and top-secret. Although the levels of damage vary, the importance of protection remains the same.
Define secret.
If an authorized closure takes place would cause serious damage.
Level of damage is below top-secret but above confidential. Although damage varies, the importance of protection remains the same.
Define top-secret.
If an authorized disclosure takes place, would would cause exponentially grave damage.

What are the three required markings that must appear on a classified document?
Portion, markings, banners, classification authority block.
What are the destruction requirements for secret information?
Only one cleared person is needed, records of destruction are not required.
What are the destruction requirements for top-secret information?
Destruction records and two people are mandatory mandatory.
AF form 143 to record destruction, records are kept for a minimum of two years .
What information must be protected from unauthorized disclosure?
National security information (NSI)

The compromise presents a threat to national security
What is an insider threat?
Individual to use their authorized access, with that delivered in time to cause harm to national security
What does HUMINT stand for?
Human intelligence
Poor handling of Human Resources or classified information could lead to?
It could result in HUMINT being captured, Jailed, tortured, and killed.
Who determines access to classified information?
Commanders and or the directors
What are the three categories of classification levels?
Collateral, SCI, SAP
What is CUI?
Controlled unclassified information
*Government created or owned, unclassified information That must be safe guarded from unauthorized disclosure.
Why is CUI important?
Sought after by strategic competitors and adversaries, and often have legal safeguarding requirements.
