Q

What is the wrist?

A

A joint complex consisting of radio-carpal joint and many relationships between carpal bones
Proximal row- Pisiform, triquetrum, lunate and scaphoid
Distal row- Hamate, capitate, trapezoid and trapezium

Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can’t Handle
Scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, hamate

Q

Characteristics of the radio-carpal joint

A

An ellipsodial/ condyloid joint- its capsule is reinforced by palmar, dorsal, radial collateral and ulnar collateral ligaments

Q

Carpometacarpal joint

A
Between distal row of carpal bones and proximal end of metacarpal bones
More stability than mobility

Gliding joints w/ limited range
Supporting palmar/dorsal CMC ligaments
