G10 Flashcards
(13 cards)
Origin of the phrenic nerve
Anterior rami of C3,4,5 keep the diaphragm alive
Function of Phrenic nerve
All motor and most sensory of diaphragm
Where does the phrenic nerve run?
Anterior to subclavian arteries
Anterior to the base of lungs
Exterior to the pericardium
Attaches to the diaphragm
What nerves provide sensory innervation for the peripheral diaphragm?
Intercostal and subcostal nerves
What artery branches off the subclavian and runs inferiorly just below the sternum bilaterally?
Internal thoracic artery
Internal thoracic artery branches into what vessels?
At 6th intercostal space, branches into the Musculophrenic artery which runs along cartilage of 10th rib, and the superior epigastric artery that runs superficially and medially.
What two main arteries provide the branches that form the intercostal arteries?
Thoracic aorta and the internal thoracic arteries.
What triangle is deep to the infrascapular fossa and what runs through this space?
Deltopectoral triangle
Cephalic V.
Thoraco-acromial A.
Lateral Pectoral N.
What innervates the pectoralis major?
lateral and medial pectoral nn.
What innervates the pectoralis minor?
medial pectoral n.
What innervates subclavius?
Nerve to subcalvius
What nerve runs over the serratus anterior and also innervates this muscle?
Long thoracic n.
What does the lateral pectoral n. do and where is it found?
Lateral passes superior to the pectoralis minor and runs deep to pectoralis major.
