What was the Allies only way to get supplies to Russia?
Ship supplies through the Mediterranean Sea and then the Aegean Sea through the Dardanelles past Constantinople (Istanbul) into the Black Sea and to the coast of Russia
Why did the Allies want to take Constantinople?
They believed it would make Turkey☝️🤓”Türkiye, and erm acsherraley it was snort called the Ottoman Empire back then” surrender and then encourage other countries to side with the Allies and threaten Austro-Hungary

18 March 1915
What type of ships were sent?
British and French battleships with cruisers, destroyers and minesweepers
What happened in more detail in the attack?
Allies were bombarding the forts on the coast well, Turks looked like they were in trouble, the ships were ordered to more forward for closer engagement. Some battleships hit mines and sunk, and some were damaged badly by artillery. They retreated and therefore failed.

Their silent withdrawal because of its efficiency
Where were ANZACS sent to after Gallipoli?
Most of the infantry were sent to France while members of the Australian Light Horse were sent to the Middle East to serve with British forces to fight against the Turks
What were the weather conditions like in the trenches?
Varying from extreme heat to cold winds and snow
What two diseases were common and why?
Dysentry and gastroenteritis where common because of the poor sanitation in close quarters as well as unreliable drinking water
