Third level colleges like Trinity, UCD and, DCU provide graduates in fields like marketing, business and engineering.
Because of the large amounts of graduates, the region has become particularly attractive to the IT sector.

As cargo is imported into Dublin Port, it can be transported all over the country via the radical road networks.
Financial services
The region is also a financial services area.
E.g. IFSC.
This has encouraged manufactured to locate in the region as financial services are available.
Raw materials for the manufacturing sector are also provided by the productive farming economy, particularly in North County Dublin.
This has led to the development of food processing industries like Bachelors.
Moving away from dock lands
Many industries have moved away from the traditional location in the docklands.
This is where the importation of goods was important to the location of the m aufactirung industries.
These industries have moved to industrial estates and business parks that run along the M50 motorway that are connected to the Dublin Airport
These industrial parks are the location of the pharmaceutical sector, which is the most rapidly expanding manufacturing industries in the GDA.
