- He found little coverage of women’s football compared to men and schoolboys.
- When women’s sport is reported it is only covered partially and in ways that trivialise the achievements of women players.

- Found that the focus was on how the female tennis players looked rather than on the sport that they played.
- Results indicated that predominantly male journalists devalued, marginalised and trivialised the athleticism of the female tennis players.
