-wanted to show that parents encouraged gender appropriate behaviours even before the age of two
+By the age of 20-24 months- daughters were encouraged to do dancing and dress up, but discouraged to do running an climbing.

Serbin et al- 9 female pre-school teachers were asked to introduce a new toy to the class of 3-4 year olds.
-girls toy= sewing kit
-boys= fishing rod
-neutral toy
the teacher had to choose pupils within the class to show how to use the game.
the teachers mainly picked the boys to demo to boys toy and vice versa.
however, the girls were more often called out.
