Define a gene.

Observable characteristics e.g. eye colour

An allele only present when 2 copies are present.
Define a dominant allele.
An allele that is always expressed
What is incomplete dominance?
Neither allele is dominant so the phenotype is a mix of 2 alleles.
Define homozygote
Two of the same alleles
Define heterozygote
One of each allele
What is monohybrid inheritance?
The inheritance of one characteristic, controlled by one gene
What is codominance?
2 alleles of the same gene are described as codominant if both are expressed in the phenotype of a heterozygote
