-Stimulate colonic or enteric nervous sys to increase peristalsis
-Used for constipation, neurogenic bowel, or colonoscopy prep

Describe Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs)
A
-Omeprazole, Lansoprazole
-MOA = inhibition of hydrogen-potassium-ATPase pump & direct decrease in hydrochloric acid production by parietal cells
-Chronic use (8+ weeks), abrupt cessation can result in rebound acid hypersecretion (hypertrophy of cells over time) = return of reflux symptoms
