How are glaciers formed?
A
Snowflakes collect in a hollow on the mountainside. With more snowflakes, the weight compresses the snow together into solid ice. If the ice does not melt it becomes too heavy and starts to move down the mountain under the influence of gravity.

Glaciers are large rivers of ice. They move slowly downhill and change the shape of the land by erosion and deposition.
