Q

Explain why the atmosphere is heating up.

A

The sun sends out energy as sunlight, this warms the earth. The earth gives some of this energy out through heat, which warms the air. Some of this heat escapes to the outer atmosphere. But some is absorbed by the molecules of greenhouse gases on Earth’s surface. This leads to warmer temperature.
