Body dysmorphia
Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), or body dysmorphia, is a mental health condition where a person spends a lot of time worrying about flaws in their appearance. These flaws are often unnoticeable to others.
CBT
cognitive behavioural therapy : a treatment that helps people to deal with emotional problems and unwanted behaviour by changing the way they think about things.
Control freak
A control freak is someone who is determined to make things happen in exactly the way they want and who tries to make other people do what they want.
Cope with
to deal with, to face and deal with responsibilities, problems or difficulties successfully or in a calm or adequate manner.
Coping
To invest one’s own conscious effort to solve personal and interpersonal problems, in order to try to master, minimize or tolerate stress and conflict.
Avoidance Coping
mechanism characterized by the effort to avoid dealing with a stressor.
Curated
To be curated means to be selected, organized and presented using professional or expert knowledge.
Debilitating
crippling. Something that’s debilitating seriously affects someone or something’s strength or ability to carry on with regular activities, like a debilitating illness. Debilitating comes from the Latin word debilis, meaning “weak.” That’s why you’ll often see the adjective used to describe illness.
Demanding
To be demanding means requiring much time, effort, or attention; requiring a lot.

to remove associations of shame or dsgrace from.

to invent a plan, system, object usually using your intelligence or imagination, In

Emotional blackmail
an attempt to control someone with whom one has an emotional connection by tactics that make the person feel guilty or upset.
Empathy gap
The empathy gap refers to the idea of not being able to relate to the emotions, needs, and feelings of others because they’re naturally experiencing the world around them differently than you are.
Fidgety
making continuous small movements that annoy other people.
Fixated
to be unable to stop thinking about something, to be strongly attached to something.

To hold back means to keep from advancing to the next stage, grade, or level. In French, « retenir, contenir ».

important to people have strong opinions, A hot-button issue is a subject or problem that people have very strong feelings about ; a controversial or polemical topic.

An incentive is a thing that motivates or encourages someone to do something: “une source de motivation”.
Liken
to compare and claim something or someone, to be similar or like (another).
Live up to
To live up to something means to be as good as what was expected or promised.
Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback enables health professionals to assess (evaluate) and train the electrical activity of brainwaves.
