What is gluten

A

A protein found in wheat and some other cereals

A

What is baking powder a mixture of

A

Tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonate (alkali)
And when a liquid is added to these chemicals they react together, producing a tasteless salt and carbon dioxide gas. This gas expands in the oven and causes the muffins to rise
