Both the personal trainer and client should recognize that absence of required knowledge can often hinder the achievement of long term goals.

Explain to the client and set up few short term goals that are realistic approachable and measurable that will lead the client to his or her ultimate long term goal. If the goal of client is “unrealistic” explain to the client why his/her goal is unrealistic with knowledge.
