What is Goodpastures?

A

A small-vessel vasculitis caused by anti-GBM antibodies against type IV collagen

How does Goodpastures present?

A
  • Pulmonary haemorrhage
  • Rapidly progressing glomerulonephritis: rapid onset AKI with proteinuria and haematuria

A

Renal biopsy: linear IgG deposits along the basement membrane
- Raised transfer factor secondary to pulmonary haemorrhage
