It came into force in 1962 with the Jamaica Independence Act passed by the UK Parliament.
Who helped draft the Jamaica Constitution?
A bipartisan joint committee of the Jamaican legislature drafted it between 1961–62.
How many chapters does the Jamaica Constitution have?
It has ten (10) chapters.
What does Chapter 1 of the Constitution say about the law?
It declares the Constitution as the supreme law of Jamaica. Any law that conflicts with it is void.
