3rd rear position

A
  • When placed on the toe, the hollow of the working foot touches the heel of the supporting foot.
  • Working foot turned out 90 degrees.
  • When placed on the ball, weight is equally distributed on both feet. Sole of the front foot is directly over the instep of the rear foot, both feet turned out 45 degrees.

A

As in 4th but the working foot is taken to the rear, and is placed on the ball of flat.

A

This is the position of the rear foot when it is placed on the ball and the front foot is in 5th.

A

Hop LF executing a high cut in front RF (count 1 & [&]), place RF on 1/2 point towards forward 2nd position close LF to 3rd rear extending RF to 4th intermediate aerial (count a 2).

Similar to pas de basque, but spring towards 4th intermediate taking the working foot to 3rd rear (1 & 2).

A

A movement of elevation commencing on the balls of both feet in 3rd position. During the elevation execute two change actions before landing with the same foot in front. (count & a 1)

Plié and turn

A

With an extension to 2nd aerial, assemble in a demi plié with RF in 3rd (count 1), disassemble onto LF, extending RF to 2nd aerial position (count 2), hop LF then bourrée under from RF making one complete turn with minimal travel (count &3 & 4).

Hop and travel (towards 4th intermediate)

A

Hop LF, extending RF towards 4th intermediate aerial, bending the knee to bring RF halfway between 4th intermediate aerial and 3rd aerial simultaneously on landing (count 1), place RF on 1/2 point 4th intermediate then close ball of LF to 3rd rear to take weight (count & 2).

Hop and travel (towards 2nd)

A

Similar to other hop and travel but the starting extension is between 4th intermediate aerial and 2nd aerial. On the side travel the working foot is placed slightly forward from 2nd position.

The break for Barracks Johnnie

A
  • Dance a balance movement, springing Rf, LF (count 1, 2), execute a high cut in front, place RF on the 1/2 point towards forward 2nd (count 3 & [&] a 4), close LF to 3rd rear and release RF to just above 3rd position and execute a Highland Fling turn to right (count 5, 6, 7, 8)
  • In all steps except 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th, working foot is extended to 4th intermediate on last count of break to prepare for the balance movement.
