Ser is used for:
- personality and character
- nationality
- physical characteristics
- race
- gender
- origin
- identification (name or title)
- profession
Estar is used for:
- location of things or people (NEVER EVENTS)
- emotions (moods and feelings)
- mental conditions
- physical conditions
- motion (present progressive)
What is the Indicative?
Expresses certainty, affirmation and informs the listerner.
What is the Subjunctive?
Expresses uncertainty, hypothesis, possibilities….WIERDO W=will, wish and influence
E=emotions
I=impersonal expressions (es necesario que)
R=Requests (used with requests)
D=Doubt, denial, disbelief (NO SUBJUNTIVO with No dudo que)
O=Ojalá = hope, hopefully
