Simple bar chart type
One bar per group
Example: Number of males vs. females
Clustered bar chart
Bars for 2+ groups side by side
Example: Males vs. females in each age group
Stacked bar chart
Bars are stacked on top of each other to show total
Example: One bar per age group, split into male/female parts
Summaries for groups of cases
Most common! Shows totals or averages for each group
Example: Average income by education level
Summaries of separate variables
Compare different questions/variables in one chart
Example: Show average scores for Q1, Q2, and Q3
Values of individual cases
One bar per person
Good for small datasets
Example: Show each student’s test score

Graphs -> line -> multiple -> summaries of separate variables
make sure to do: OPTIONS = exclude cases variable by variable

First= properties -> variables ->Change nominal/O.. in Group
Then = Right click on chart -> transpose chart
