3
Q
gigivitis increased by
A
drugs causing swelling vitamin deficincay down's syndrome poorly controlled diabetes mellitus dieseases that lower tissue immune resistance
4
Q
periodontal disease
A
untreated gingivitis ā> P.dā> pocket formation & tooth loss
1st phase:
- periodontal ligament deataches at the margin
- periodontal pocket, gap opens up at the tooth gingival interface
- remains of peridontal membrane & inside of gingiva comes in contact w/ saliva & bacteria= inflammmed
2nd phase:
lack of loading at alveolar bone = bone resorption
periodontal membrane starts to retract
viscous circle is initiated - as more bone is lost and teeth become loose
5
Q
degree of periodontal disease
A
measure pocket depth
time for bleeding when probing w/ dental tools
count number of teeth affected
