Q

Why is the Haber process important?

A

Used in agriculture to produce ammonia fertilisers which can be applied for crops to grow

6
Q

Why the conditions?

A

The lower the yield the faster the reaction, we use 450 degrees so particles have more energy so therefore more frequent collisions, increasing rate of reaction.

7
Q

Best pressure for reaction?

A

200atm (atmospheres) not as dangerous as 400 as at this pressure it may explode.

Q

If reaction is increased 600 degrees?

A

Positioned shifts to favour endothermic reaction, more nitrogen and hydrogen produced less ammonia.

Q

What is dynamic equilibrium?

A

Rate of forward and reverse reaction are the same , and no change in quantity of products produced

10
Q

What happens to ammonia yield if the pressure is increased?

A

Exothermic reaction will be favoured and more ammonia will be produced

11
Q

What will happen if we decreased the temperature in the reaction?

A

The reaction will favour exothermic and produce more ammonia than nitrogen and hydrogen
