Static hazards include
- Parked cars
- Roundabouts
- Junctions
Near school Whitchurch out for flashing amber lights as
Children may be crossing
Two way roads may have a third lane in the centre
This is used traffic in both directions to overtaking.
If there is a hazard/obstruction on the motorway or dual carriageway
Briefly use you hazard warning lights to warn traffic behind.
If a pedestrian has no pavement and is walking on the road
Keep a low speed and allow for 2 metres of space when passing them.
When passing cyclist
Allow 1.5 metres of space when travelling at up to 30 mph
When turning left
Check for cyclist filtering on your left
When over taking cyclists
They may wobble of swerve to avoid pot holes.

- Lose your license if passed in the last 2 years
You must tell the licensing authority if
- You eyesight deteriorates
- You suffer from an illness that may affect your driving
Use fog lights if visibility is less than
100 metres
(If less, use dipped lights)
If you’re being tailgated and you can not let them past
Increase distance between you and the person in front so less cars can be involved in an accident
