0 - Normally Stable
1 - Normally Stable but Unstable when Heated
2 - Violent Chemical Reaction with Pressure or Heat
3 - Can Explode
4 - Likely to Explode
Red on NFPA 704 Placard
Flammability:
0 - Doesn’t burn
1 - Heat to burn
2 - More heat to burn
3 - Damn near ambient temp to burn
4 - Will burn at ambient temperature
White on NFPA 704 Placard
Specific Hazard (will be written with an abbreviation)

Air
Rail
Ship
Truck - Bill of lading on drivers seat or door
Air - Air bill in cockpit
Rail - Waybill or consist with crew
Ship - Dangerous cargo manifest on bridge
Yellow section is by UN Number
Blue by name of chemical
Orange is the guides
Green is protective action distance
White section has placard (black with white number)
