what is the WHO definition of health and wellbeing
relating to the state of a person’s physical, social, emotional, mental and spiritual existence and is characterised by an equilibrium in which the individual feels happy, healthy, capable, and engaged.
subjective definition of health and wellbeing
Subjective: influenced by or based on personal beliefs, feelings or opinions
physical health and wellbeing
relates to the functioning of the body and its systems, including the physical capacity to perform daily activities or tasks.
social h and w definition
the state and quality of the interactions and relationships that an individual has ability to manage or adapt appropriately to different social situations.
mental h +w
current state of wellbeing referring to a persons mind or brain and includes the ability to think and process information
emotional h+w
refers to the ability to express feelings in appropriate way
spiritual h+w
relates to ideas, beliefs, values and ethics that arise in the mind and conscience of human beings. in includes the concept of hope, peace, a guiding sense of meaning or value and a reflection of a persons place in the world
what are the strengths and limitations of the WHO defintion
STRENGTH: health is considered more than just physical
LIMITATION: to be considered healthy theres many components that need to be considered
