What is Health
A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being
What are the 5 dimensions of health and describe
Physical- Efficient functioning of the body and its systems providing capacity to carry out everyday actvities.
Mental- What is going well in a persons life allowing someone to cope with stresses of life, learn, realise abilities.
Emotional- How we think and feel, and how we cope with our thoughts feelings.
Social- Interactions with other people, social and communication skills and abilites we display.
Spiritual- Feeling a sense of purpose and meaning in our life .
What is Eipdemiology
Study of the patterns, causes and effects of health-related states or events in a population to understand problems and their causes
What are the measures of epidemiology
Mortality, Infant mortality, Morbidity (sickness), Life Expectancy
What is incidence and prevelence
Incidence and prevelence are measures used to present morbidity data. Incidence is the number of new cases of disease occuring in a given period while prevalence is the cases of disease at a specific time.
Define each of the social justice principle
Participation- Oppotunities for individuals and community members to be involved in decision making processes.
Equity- Taking action to achieve fairness by allocation resources and entitlements fairly across the population.
Access- Ensuring people can use treatments and services regardless of age, sex, ethnicity for improved health outcomes.
Rights- Maintaining a just society by protecting civil, political, econmic, cultural and social rights

Define Advocacy
Process of supporting a cause or position, or acting on behalf of yourself or another individual to make sure your or their best interest are taken into account.
Compare the role of government and non government organisations in promoting health.
Government organisations allows health issues to be heard and responded direcly to parliment and government. NGOs gather greater publicity and consists of individduals who have the experienced health issue.
What is a holistic attitude
Refers to the social, emotional, cultural wellbeing of the whole community.
What is community based practises
Involves the strength and resources of communities, families, and individuals.
