A

abdominal pain
polyarthritis
haematuria, renal failure (features of IgA nephropathy)
palpable purpuric rash w localised oedema over buttocks + extensor surface of arms + legs

what is HSP?

A

IgA vasculitis
small vessel vasculitis characterised by palpable purpura in lower limbs/buttocks, arthritis/arthralgia, abdominal pain + renal involvement

often follows an URTI

what is the treatment of HSP?

A

analgesia for arthrlagia
treatment of nephropathy is supportive

what is the prognosis of HSP?

A

good
self-limiting condition especially in children without renal involvement

BP + urinalysis should be monitored to detect progressive renal involvement

1/3 patients have a relapse
