Why did Henry change religion?
Pope said he could put his marriage on trial and sent Cardinal Campeggio, to help give a judgment on the marriage. After months of deliberations, the Pope refused to grant Henry his annulment.
What was happening in 25/16th century with church?
Church was selling indulgences! Priests were not behaving well. German priest called Martin Luther started to protest about the church and how it was behaving. His followers became know as protestants.
Who was William Tyndale?
He was executed for translating the bible into English so that all ordinary people could read it at this time.
What were the 4 criticisms of the catholic church?
- church too rich - 1/3 land of all England - peasant had to give 10% to priest evert year
- priests did not lead a holy life
- ordinary people could not
understand the church services because they were not in English - poor people could not afford indulgences -
when a person died a person to heaven or hell - whilst you were alive you could buy indulgence to travel through purgatory quicker.

Yes he had lots of power over England and the county had to follow his decision on religion and wares - this was unchanged form teh time of hte normans.
How did Henry look when he got older?
Henry was extremely fat and unhealthy as he go older - he didn’t trust people even his own friends had them killed

Jane Seymour gave birth to Edward VI he became King in 1547 - he was a sickly boy and died in 1553 without any children
