how and when did the steel pan come about
The Steel pan, originated in Trinidad and tobago by African slaves. The development began in the late 1930s with the use of paint tins and dustbins. It later continued in the 1940s with larger containers such as oil drums, worn around necks with the tops hammered and grooved to produce new sound.
What are the origins of calypso
Calypso music originates in Trinidad and Tobago but has roots from West African tribal songs of the 18th century and became popular in the early 20th century spreading through the Caribbean

Chutney music is a mixture of Indian and local music first appeared in Trinidad and Tobago in the 1940s
