What happened during the Puja ceremony?

A
  1. a bell is rung at the start to indicate it starting
  2. incense is spread around the room to symbolise Brahmans presence everywhere
  3. the feet of the murti are washed to show that God is welcomed as as a sign of respect
  4. flowers are offered to the God to show its importance
  5. hymns are sand and mantras are said to show devotion
  6. the worshiper takes kumkum powder and places it on their head and the head of the murti
  7. fruits and sweet foods are offered to the murtis which are then thought to be blessed
