Q

Is this inflammation or a tumour, why?

https://s3.amazonaws.com/brainscape-prod/system/cm/173/063/511/q_image_thumb.png?1450361256

A

Tumour. Sheets of round cells indicative of mast cell tumour. Quite pleomorphic also indicating mid graded tumour. Low mitotic index.

Q

Is this inflammation or a tumour, why?

https://s3.amazonaws.com/brainscape-prod/system/cm/173/063/855/q_image_thumb.png?1450361576

A

Tumour, there are a lot of MNGCs. Although there is haemorrhage it is not always an indicator of inflammation. There is slight inflammation with the eosinophils but most cells are bundling showing a benign tumour. This was taken in the gingiva,

Q

Name the cells in the figure and the organ, also distinguishing bronchi apart from vessels??

https://s3.amazonaws.com/brainscape-prod/system/cm/173/069/876/q_image_thumb.png?1450364062

A

Lungs from bottom to top:

  1. Visceral Pleura
  2. Alveolus
  3. Artery
  4. Small bronchus

Look for cartillage for the bronchus and endothelium for vessels. Bronchus is epithelium.

Non cardiac muscle- streams nucleus middle

skeletal muscle- nucleus on the outer edge
