Which countries were part of the winning side from WW1?
Britain, France and USA
What did USA, France and Britain all have in common in the time of WW1?
They were all democratic countries
What is dictatorship?
A country which was overthrown by a rebellion or dictator against politicians and gained complete control. Also, no regular elections take place due to the dictator wanting to remain in power.
What is the origin of the word Democracy?
“demo” meaning people and “kratos” meaning rule. So “people rule”
What is ideology of democracy?
Where civilians/ordinary people vote in elections in which there are several political parties to choose from. The person they elect then represents them, such as parliament and council.
What are three examples of rights people have in democracy?
- Freedom of speech
- Freedom of information
- Freedom of belief

Strong ex-soldiers who were sent to attack the Spartacists and end the revolt.
