Similar to concentration gradients, what happens to gases?
A
Gases that are in higher concentration in one area relative to another will opt to flow down their gradient (high P to low P)

What happens when we breathe oxygen in?
A
The partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli is much higher than the partial pressure of oxygen in the capillaries, making it easy for the oxygen to diffuse.

A
The partial pressure of CO2 in the blood of the capillaries is higher than the partial pressure of CO2 in the alveoli, and so it diffuses over gas exchange
