Transmit for 48 hours
In water: Antenna automatically deploys in water

On land:
Add one pouch of salt and one litre of liquid to the attached bag
Lower the base of the beacon into the bag to cover the vent holes with liquid

Note:if no water and salt available replace water supply at intervals of approx 12-24 hours a day to maintain full power output .
Use 4 table spoons of water with each half bag of water

In water ensure ELT dial is in arm position prior to deployment in water
A flashing led will be visible after 10 seconds on top of transmitter cover

On land
Unfasten water soluble tape to release antenna
Turn elt dial to xmt (transmit) no liquid is required
A flashing led will be visible after 10 seconds on top of transmitter cover

Pass
Push up red catch
Squeeze the handle
Sweep the flames

Range:1.5 - 2 metres
Hold 60 degrees vertical
Minimum of 10 seconds

Serviceability: red plastic disk is intact at rear of handle

PBE should be worn, don’t get too close,do not allow any metal part of the extinguisher to make contact with live wires

Tamper prevention integrity seal is intact
Check humidity indicator is blue in colour

Precautions: move objects from around neck, ensure long hair is within neck seal

Oxygen flow is initiated by snapping the two cylinders apart which in turn activated the flashing green light on the service / end of service indicator

Should be an immediate hissing sound

Single outlet oxygen

A
  1. Ensure oronasal mask is plugged into outlet
    2.shut off valve fully until number 4 is visible (above pressure gauge)
    3.check inline flow indicator is green

Serviceability: pressure gauge needle is in between green band and full

100 psi should be left, passenger should be checked every 15 min

Precautions: no bumping, no ignition within 4 metres, avoid contact with oils or grease
Remove makeup from person before administering oxygen

Multi outlet oxygen

A

1.Select flow rate by plugging oronasal mask into appropriate outlet
2.shut off valve fully(anti clockwise) then turn back a half turn
3.check inline flow indicator is green

Serviceability: pressure gauge needle is in the red band

100 psi should be left, passenger should be checked every 15 min

Precautions: no bumping, no ignition within 4 metres, avoid contact with oils or grease
Remove makeup from person before administering oxygen

Flight deck Eros oxygen

A

Pressure gauge needle is in red band
Flight deck oxygen bottle with an eros outlet may be identified by a yellow band around the top(brass fitting)

1.disconnect flight deck mask from aircraft oxygen system
(To disconnect flight deck mask from the aircraft oxygen system, twist and pull the bayonet fitting located inside the Eros housing)

2.plug flight deck mask fitting into the cylinder eros outlet (the bayonet fitting on the mask attaches to the brass outlet on the flight deck cylinder)

  1. Open the shut of valve fully (anti clockwise)then back half a turn

Max duration is 15 min
