1) How to use a Stethoscope?

A

Place the earpieces of the stethoscope in your ears.

Hold the chestpiece of the stethoscope lightly between your fingers.

Press the chestpiece firmly against the area of the body you want to listen to.

Listen carefully for any sounds, such as heartbeat or lung sounds.

Adjust the bell or diaphragm of the chestpiece based on the type of sound you want to hear.

Move the stethoscope to different areas of the body to listen to different sounds.

2) How to use a Sphygmomanometer?

A

Ensure the service user is seated comfortably, with their arm supported at heart level.

Wrap the cuff around the upper arm, making sure it is snug but not too tight.

Inflate the cuff until the pressure exceeds the expected systolic pressure, then slowly deflate while listening to the pulse using the stethoscope.

Read the systolic pressure from the gauge when the first clear sound is heard, and the diastolic pressure when the sound disappears.
