What are the three layers of bone (outside-inside)
Periosteum, Compact Bone, Spongy Bone, and Bone Marrow.
Which part of the bone is strongest?
Compact bone
What are the 5 functions of the skeletal system?
- Provide support to the body
- Protect Internal Organs
- Work with muscular system to move body
- Produce red blood cells
- Store calcium, fat, and other minerals.
What is the periosteum?
Outer bone layer
What is the bone marrow?
innermost bone layer that produces red blood cells
What is a ligament?
Connects bone to bone
What is a joint?
Where 2 or more bones meet
What is a tendon?
Connects bone to muscle
What is cartilage?
Between 2 bones so they don’t rub against each other
