A

AB MALE HUMAN SERUM FROM DEFIBRINATED PLASMA

Serum for from AB blood male. This is essentially similar to serum as defined above except that the clotting process is done in the laboratory. Defibrination can be achieved by physical (diafiltration) or chemical means. Test for a range of analytes in normal ranges. Most controls and calibrators use pooled defibrinated plasma (up to 500L per lot) because it is more stable than individual plasma samples and much cheaper than true serum
