Hydraulic System SY109 Flashcards
(42 cards)
What is the hydraulic system pressurized to?
3000 psi +/- 120 psi
What does the primary hydraulic system power (under normal circumstances)?
Landing gear/main gear inboard doors, flaps, speed brake and nose wheel steering
What drives the primary hydraulic system?
The engine-driven pump
When the pressure exceeds what level, can the hydraulic system be used to power nose wheel steering, landing gear ect?
Above 1800 psi
Where is the engine-driven pump located?
In the engine compartment
Where does the pump create and distribute pressure to the reservoir?
In the power package, then onward to the selector manifold and the emergency system
What does the reservoir do?
Provide pressurized fluid back to the pump to keep the pump charged with fluid
What pressure is the return fluid reduced to before entering the pump, and why?
50 psi in order not to damage the pump
At what pressure does the pressure release valve operate?
3250 - 3500 psi
What is the purpose of the slide valve?
To isolate the hydraulic pressure coming from the engine-driven pump
What manifold allows the hydraulic system, the cockpit controls, and the aircraft devices operated by the hydraulic system to work together?
The selector manifold
How many assemblies does the selector manifold consist of?
5 electrical selector valves
Which element of the primary hydraulic system is responsible for activating fx the lowering of the flaps?
The electrical selector valve
On which instrument is the hydraulic pressure displayed?
The Engine/Systems display
What is the color and range of normal operating limits of the hydraulic system?
Green: 2880 - 3120 psi (in increments of 10)
What is the color and range of the extended scale within safe operating limits of the hydraulic system?
White: 1800-2880 psi3120-3500 psi
What is the color and range of the cautionary level of the hydraulic system, and what is the range of the counter?
Amber:1700-1800 psi3500-3600 psiCounter:0-1790 psi3510-4100 psi
When will the HYDR FL LO annunciator panel flash (amber)?
If the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir drops below one quart
When will the emergency hydraulic system be used?
In case of:- primary hydraulic system failure- engine failure- battery bus failure
The emergency system provides pressure for a one-time lowering of what components?
Landing gear, main gear inboard doors and flaps
Where does the emergency package receive its pressure?
The emergency accumulator
When is the emergency package pressurized and how?
At engine start-up, by compressed helium
The two emergency extension selector valves can be found where?
In the emergency package manifold
When will the pressure release valve release excessive pressure?
At 3500 psi
