Poor reabsorption in bone = fractures
Constipation
High BP
Loss of appetite, N/V = epigastric pain
Emotional disorders
Muscle weakness

A
Kindly stones/renal failure (strain urine)
Osteoporosis
Cardiac changes
Hypercalcemic crisis >15
Dialysis

What is the treatment for hyperparathyroidism?
A
Parathyroidectomy
Calcitonin
Loop diuretics
Biphosphates: FOMAX: slows down excretion of calcium. take w/ full glass of water, empty stomach, sit up for 30 mins
