You place it before the noun.I f its after the noun, it doesnt need an hyphen and is probably not a compund adjective.
What is an hyphen?
that : -
Ex Mirror-like teeth
My nephew is 10 years old. / I have a ten 10-year-old nephew.
Why isn’t the noun(object) conjugated in the second sentence , and why does it have hyphens?
Because in the first example, the object is a noun so it needs to be pluralized(there are 10 years). In the 2nd example, it becomes a compund adjective, so stays singular (even if the noun is plural).
