Ghusl
Full, ritual cleansing of the body to prepare for the mosque, Qur’an, or prayer

Ka’bah
A square structure in Mecca said to be the house of Allah. Tawaf is performed around it. Originally, it was filled with idols, but Muhammad removed them all. It is believed to be where the creation of the Earth began and lays directly under Allah’s throne in heaven, sent down from heaven and rebuilt by Abraham and Ishmael.

Muslim place of worship (church)
Qur’an
Voice of Allah spoken to Muhammad by Gabriel, giving guidance on how to worship, behave, and see the world.
Salat
One of the pillars of Islam, translating to prayer, which must be done 5 times per day with quiet verbal prayer and gestures. Can take place anywhere clean.
Sawm
Fasting, one of the pillars of islam. Occurs in Ramadan, where they abstain from food, water, evil thoughts, drinking, sex, etc.
Shahadah
Creed, one of the pillars of Islam. “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”

A chapter of the Qur’an
Wudu
Less intense version of Ghusi, partial cleansing of the body before Salat

Mount Arafat
The hill where Muhammad gave his final sermon. Muslims visit it during the Hajj and ask Allah for forgiveness.
